Heavy-Duty
Sway Bars
Ballistic armour raises a vehicle's centre of gravity significantly — and with it, the body roll forces during cornering and evasive manoeuvres. A standard sway bar provides negligible resistance at armoured loads, leaving the vehicle prone to rollover at speeds that would be unremarkable in an unarmoured configuration.
Tough Dog Armoured precision-engineered sway bars restore lateral stability, providing the torsional resistance needed to keep heavily armoured vehicles level and controlled in tactical high-speed operations.

Advanced Engineering Features
High-Strength Spring Steel
Precision-grade spring steel provides the torsional stiffness required to resist body roll on armoured vehicles with elevated centres of gravity — without the brittleness that causes failure under repeated extreme loading.
Precision Engineered for Fit
Each sway bar is custom-engineered for specific vehicle platforms and ballistic protection loads. Geometry, diameter, and end-link length are calculated to restore the original anti-roll behaviour that armour weight eliminates from stock bars.
Direct OEM Replacement
Designed to replace standard equipment with no vehicle modifications required. Correct mounting geometry ensures the sway bar works in synchronisation with the existing suspension architecture rather than fighting it.
Multi-Layer Corrosion Protection
Phosphate-primed base coat with high-durability powder coat finish. Proven in coastal, tropical, and desert operational environments where standard paint finishes corrode through within months of heavy-duty use.

Technical Detail
The Anti-Roll Problem on Armoured Vehicles
Body roll is a function of centre of gravity height multiplied by lateral force. A standard Land Cruiser has a centre of gravity at approximately 650mm. The same vehicle with B6 ballistic protection and a raised roofline may have a centre of gravity at 800–900mm. At highway cornering forces, this difference produces body roll angles that compromise stability and can cause rollover during evasive manoeuvres.
The OEM sway bar is engineered for the factory vehicle's mass and centre of gravity. Under armour loads, it provides negligible resistance to the increased body roll forces — effectively becoming non-functional as an anti-roll device. Replacing it with a correctly-rated Tough Dog Armoured bar restores the vehicle's designed lateral stability characteristics, even at armoured weights.
Proper sway bar selection also requires consideration of the spring and shock configuration — a bar that is too stiff can lift the inside wheel on rough terrain, reducing traction at a critical moment. Tough Dog engineers each bar for the specific suspension system configuration to avoid this compromise.
